Data Collection
This extension does not sell personal data and does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or telemetry SDKs. Extension feature data and user preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and remain on your device.
We do not collect user data for profiling or marketing purposes. If data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before any new collection begins.
How It Works
This extension works on YouTube pages in your browser and applies user-selected modules such as Discovery, Quality Settings, Focus, and Looper. Core settings are processed locally inside the extension runtime.
Network Requests
The extension communicates only with required domains declared in the extension manifest:
https://www.youtube.com/*: YouTube page integration and feature behavior on watch/home experiences.
https://music.youtube.com/*: Looper behavior support on YouTube Music pages.
https://us-central1-vivies-toolkit-for.cloudfunctions.net/*: Discovery proxy requests used to fetch trending feed data (for example mode, country/category filters, cursor, and result size).
No third-party ad or analytics endpoints are used by the extension.

Permissions
The extension requires the following permissions, each used only for the stated purpose:
storage: Save local module state and preferences such as discovery settings/cache, quality settings, focus settings, looper ranges/settings, theme, and language.
https://www.youtube.com/*: Run content scripts and extension UI behavior on YouTube pages.
https://music.youtube.com/*: Run content scripts and extension UI behavior on YouTube Music pages.
https://us-central1-vivies-toolkit-for.cloudfunctions.net/*: Retrieve Discovery feed data through the configured proxy endpoint.
Local Storage
All extension data remains on your device. Local storage may include:
Discovery Settings and Cache: Discovery mode preferences (world/country/category/refresh) and cached feed items for faster rendering.
Quality Settings: Preferred quality, auto quality behavior, and optional player resize preferences.
Focus Settings: Optional visibility/filter preferences for selected YouTube UI areas.
Loop States: Per-video loop values such as enabled flag, start/end time, and update timestamp.
Looper Settings: Defaults like auto-enable, default start second, and default duration.
Preferences: Theme, language, and module enable/disable states.
Data Retention
Data is retained locally on your device until you:
Uninstall the extension (extension storage is removed by Chrome)
Manually clear extension/browser storage
Overwrite existing settings through extension workflows
User Rights
You can:
Review locally stored extension data from Chrome extension tools
Delete stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage
Control which modules/features are enabled and used
Changes to This Policy
