Data Collection
This extension does not sell personal data and does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or telemetry SDKs. Extension feature data and user preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and remain on your device.
We do not collect user data for profiling or marketing purposes. If data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before any new collection begins.
How It Works
This extension works on normal HTTP and HTTPS pages in your browser and applies user-selected volume, bass, and scope settings to supported HTML5 audio and video elements. It reads the active tab URL locally only to determine the selected tab or hostname scope. Audio processing, URL scope matching, and core settings are handled locally inside the extension runtime.
Network Requests
The extension does not communicate with developer-owned servers or third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, telemetry, or data broker services. Active tab URLs and hostnames used for local scope matching are never transmitted.
Content scripts run on normal HTTP and HTTPS pages so sound settings can be applied to supported media. These scripts find audio/video elements but do not display or inject the extension interface. They do not record or transmit audio, page content, URLs, or browsing activity.
Third-Party Services
This extension does not use third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, telemetry, or data broker services.
Permissions
The extension requires the following permissions, each used only for the stated purpose:
storage: Save local volume, bass, scope, module state, theme, language, and interface preferences.
sidePanel: Provide the extension interface in Chrome's native Side Panel after the user clicks the extension icon.
http://*/*: Run the local audio-processing content scripts on normal HTTP pages containing supported media and read the local hostname needed for the selected scope.
https://*/*: Run the local audio-processing content scripts on normal HTTPS pages containing supported media and read the local hostname needed for the selected scope.
Local Storage
All extension data remains on your device. Local storage may include:
Sound Settings: Volume and bass percentages selected by the user.
Scope Settings: Active-tab, active-site, or all-tabs selection and the local tab/hostname target required for that scope.
Module State: Whether the Volume module is enabled or disabled.
Preferences: Theme, language, and last-opened sidebar tab.
Limited Use
Browser permissions and locally processed tab information are used only to provide and improve the extension's user-facing sound enhancement and scope-selection features. This information is not transferred to third parties, used for advertising, used for creditworthiness or lending decisions, or made available for human review.
Data Retention
Data is retained locally on your device until you:
Uninstall the extension (extension storage is removed by Chrome)
Manually clear extension/browser storage
Overwrite existing settings through extension workflows
User Rights
You can:
