Data Collection

This extension does not sell personal data and does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or telemetry SDKs. Extension feature data and user preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and remain on your device.

The extension locally processes the active page URL/title, frame URLs, and HTML5 media metadata needed for its visible playback controls, site rules, and user-requested direct-media list. This data is not sent to the developer or used for profiling, marketing, personalized advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.

How It Works

This extension works on pages containing HTML5 video or audio and applies user-selected modules such as Speed Controller and Downloader. Playback settings and site rules are processed locally inside the extension runtime. Direct-media scan results remain in the current panel session and are not stored as extension download history.

Network Requests

The extension does not communicate with developer-owned servers or third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, telemetry, or data broker services.

When the user presses Download, Chrome connects directly to the selected eligible HTTP(S) media URL exposed by the current page. The extension always requests Chrome's save dialog and does not start downloads automatically.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, telemetry, or data broker services. Chrome may retain completed downloads in its own download history according to the user's browser settings.

Permissions

The extension requires the following permissions, each used only for the stated purpose:

storage: Save local module state, theme, language, playback preferences, optional last speed, per-site rules, overlay settings, and custom shortcuts.

downloads: Start a download for an eligible direct media URL only after the user presses Download.

sidePanel: Show global Speed and Settings controls on browser pages where content scripts cannot run.

webNavigation: Enumerate frames in the active page so embedded HTML5 media can be found and module state changes can reach those frames.

<all_urls>: Run the HTML5 playback controller and direct-media discovery on normal pages where the user browses. Local file access remains disabled unless the user explicitly enables it in Chrome.

Local Storage

All extension data remains on your device. Local storage may include:

Module State: Speed Controller and Downloader enabled/disabled preferences.

Speed Settings: Speed/seek increments, preferred speed, optional last speed, overlay visibility/opacity/position, and speed-reset protection.

Site Rules: Domain names and default-speed or disable behavior explicitly configured by the user.

Shortcut Settings: User-configured keyboard shortcuts and custom preferred-speed shortcuts.

Preferences: Theme, language, and the last selected sidebar tab.

Data Retention

Data is retained locally on your device until you:

Uninstall the extension (extension storage is removed by Chrome)

Manually clear extension/browser storage

Change, remove, or overwrite settings through extension workflows

Direct-media scan results are retained only for the current panel session.

User Rights

You can:

Review locally stored extension data from Chrome extension tools

Delete stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage

Control which modules, site rules, settings, and local-file access options are enabled and used

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
